2005 Supermoto USA Rules for NW Series

  Class: Racer Level Rules:
1 Beginner

 

Novice Any cc bike, rider must not have previously won a supermoto race.
Any rider earning 50pts or 1 race win may no longer enter Novice class.
Expert Level riders from any discipline (MX, Flat Track, Road Racing) may not enter novice class.
Riders who have previously entered Intermediate or Expert level classes may not enter novice class, except by determination of the race director.
This is not a championship points class

May not run any of the following classes:
-- Open Money
-- Unlimited
 

2 Pee Wee Kids Kids under 10.  Bike choice is open ; no 80cc > water cooled 2 strokes please. This is a fun class for kids to be able to "Race like mom or dad". Kids need full mx gear and chest protector at a minimum
 
3 Minimoto Open to all maximum displacement of 74cc (2-stroke) or 198cc (4-stroke), unlimited modifications.
No water cooled 150cc 4 strokes.
 
4 Pit bike Open to all < 160 cc 4 stroke, < 74cc 2 stroke, < 14” wheels. Open modifications.

 
5 Supermoto Junior Open to all < 99cc (2-stroke) , < 250cc (4 stroke).  150cc Water cooled 4 strokes permitted.
Unlimited modifications.
Ages 10-18. Adults permitted on < 160cc 4 strokes or < 100cc 2 strokes.
 
6 250 (400F) Open to all Up to 125cc liquid-cooled 2-strokes; 150cc Water cooled 4 strokes permitted.
Up to 400cc liquid-cooled 4-strokes;
unlimited modifications.
 
7 450

 

Open to all Single or twin cylinder machines with Maximum displacement of 380cc (2-stroke) or 450cc (4-stroke), otherwise unlimited modifications.
Minimum age 14

 
8 Vet (+30) Open to all Unlimited single or twin-cylinder displacement machines with unlimited modifications.
Minimum age 30.

 
9 Open Amateur All, except experts Unlimited displacement single or twin-cylinder machines with unlimited modifications.

May not run any of the following classes:
-- Open Money

 
10 Unlimited

 

Amateur and Expert Unlimited displacement single or twin-cylinder machines with unlimited modifications.
Minimum age 14

May not run any of the following classes:
-- Beginner
 
11 Open Money Expert Only Unlimited displacement single or twin-cylinder machines with unlimited modifications.
Minimum age 18 or Pro card holder from other AMA discipline.

May not run any of the following classes:
-- Beginner class
-- Open Amateur
 
12 Supermoto Quad   Any displacement/modification permitted. Must meet bike technical requirements.

* there are a handful of tracks in which we cannot run Quads.  We will make announcements as early as possible about these events.

* Knobby Exhibition class Any displacement/modification permitted. Must meet bike technical requirements and run off road tire on front and rear wheels.

 

      * race director has discretion to allow bike/riders in classes that may not match written rules
